YLE SOMESSA


Katsoin mielenkiintoisen ohjelman “Yle uutiset suora linja”, jossa keskusteltiin somesta ja ennen kaikkea siitä että onko oikein että yle on mukana somessa. Ohjelman aikana katsojat saivat lähettää mielipiteitään chatin välityksellä ja näin osallistua mukaan keskusteluun. Sinänsä hyvä että saa osallistua, mutta välillä anonyymeissa chateissa on vaarana että kommentit ovat asiattomia ja keskusteluun selvästi osallistuu myös niitä, jotka ovat katsoneet vain esim. 5 minuuttia ohjelman lopusta eivätkä välttämättä ole saaneet hyvää kokonaiskuvaa siitä.


Onko sitten oikein että yle on mukana somessa? Minun mielestä sillä ei ole paljoakaan merkitystä, itse en ylen asioita ehkä lähtisi urkkimaan somesta, he kun ovat niin paljon muussa mediassa esillä koko ajan.

Yle uutisten suorassa linjassa oli paljon hyviä pointteja somea ajatellen, esim.ei kannata laittaa nettiin mitään, mistä ei ole valmis vastaamaan täysin. Näihin kuuluvat asiattomat kommentit, joista voi pahimmillaan saada jopa kunnianloukkaus, vaikka tarkoitus loukata ketään ei olisi.Esille nostettiin myös mielipide/väite “et ole mitään jos et ole somessa”, joka tämä ei mielestäni pidä paikkaansa. Muistaakseni tämä oli jonkin henkilön kommentti chatissa, sinänsä helppo kommentoida anonyymina kuin nimimerkillä, eikä henkilö kertonut minkäänlaisia perusteita väitteelleen. Kommentteja?

YLE IN SOME


I watched an interesting program “Yle uutiset suora linja” where there was discussion about some and especially the issue yle in some. During the program the viewers could send their own opinions via chat and say their word in the discussion. It´s good that they wanted to involve the audience, but there is danger in the chats where you can say your opinion anonymously, the comments might sometimes be rude or inappropriate.Also it might be that the people who send their comments have only watched the show for a couple of minutes and don´t have the big picture of it.


Well, is it right that yle is in some? In my opinion it doesn´t matter for me, I would not go to some to find yle, since it´s in other media very actively all the time.

In suora linja there was a lot of good points when thinking about some issues, e.g. you shouldn´t put anything to the internet of what you are not able to take full responsibility, like rude comments that can in worst cases lead to a situation where someone sues you even though you didn´t mean to hurt anyone.


There was also an opinion if my memory serves me correctly that you´re nobody if you´re not in social media”, which does not make sense to me. I think this was a comment in the chat, so it´s easy to put comments like this as an anonymous writer than with your real name, and the person did not even put any facts to the statement.

The pro´s of SOME

SOMEn plussat

Verrattuna omien vanhempieni lapsuuteen ja nuoruuteen, mahdollisuudet tehdä asioita on ollut ihan eri sfääreissä kuin heillä: ei ollut nettiä, kännyköitä, ei matkusteltu kovinkaan paljoa, saati että olisi muutettu ulkomaille tuosta noin vaan.

Nykyajan nuoret matkustavat jatkuvasti ja muuttaminen ulkomaillekin on normaalia. Varsinkin tässä tulevat SOMEn hyvät puolet esiin. Juttelin juuri ystäväni kanssa skypessä, hän asuu Surfer´s Paradisessa Gold Coastilla Australiassa.  Vaikka hän on asunut siellä jo lähes vuoden, voimme somen ansiosta pitää paljon paremmin yhteyttä, eikä tarvitse lähetellä pelkkiä kirjeitä.Toki korttien ja kirjeiden lähetyskään ei saisi unohtua, sillä se tuntuu aivan erilaiselta kuin lähettää facebook -viesti. Pointtini kuitenkin on, että yhteydenotosta on tulltu helppoa: voit soittaa koska tahansa (vain aikaero on joskus tiellä..), se on ilmaista, voit lähettää koska vain viestejä esim. facebookissa tai muualla somessa ja se on vaivatonta. Jopa mummini käyttää sitä.:)

Asuin itse Wienissä viime keväänä puoli vuotta, olin siellä vaihto-oppilaana ja yhteydenotto oli myös tällöin helpompaa. Pystyin jättämään ystävät, poikaystävän ja vanhemmat Suomeen kun tiestin että pystyn "näkemään" heitä skypessä.Tottakai he tulivat myös käymään, mutta yhteydenotto läheisiin on minulle kuitenkin sen verran tärkeää, että skype oli kyllä pelastus miljoonien puhelinlaskuilta.

Yritin ajastaa tämän lähtemään eilen illalla, mutta jostain syystä se ei ollut lähettänytkään.

The pro´s of SOME

When comparing to the youth my own parents, the possibilities are in total different atmosphares: they did not have internet, mobile phones, they did not travel that much, talk about moving abroad just like that.

The youngsters nowadays travel all the time and moving abroad is normal. Especially in this sense the SOMEs pro´s come across. I was just talking with my friend via skype, she lives in Sufer´s Paradise in Gold Coast, Australia and even though she has been living there almost a year, thanks to some we ca keep much better contact and don´t have to send just letters and cadds. Of course one should not forget them, because it feels totally different than sending a facebook message.The point that I´m trying to make though is that keeping contact with other people around the world has never been this easy:you can call your friends at any time (only the time difference can sometimes prevent it), it´s free, you can send messages at any time e.g. from facebook or from other some and it´s easy. Even my grandmom uses it! :)

I was living in Vienna the last spring for six months. I was an exchange student there and keeping contact was also easier then than it would have been without some. I could leave my friends, my boyfriend and my parents to Finland when I knew that I could "meet" them in skype.Of course they visited me, but keeping contact with my closest friends and family is so important to me, that skype saved me from millions phone bills.

I tried to set a time that the blog would post this yesterday in the evening, but for some reason it did not work.

VIRUKSET

Eilen illalla kirjoitin rauhassa kotona koulujuttuja läppärilläni, kun yhtäkkiä n.50 pop-up -ikkunaa tuli näkyviin. Säikähdin hiukan ja tajusin heti kyseessä olevan virus. Onneksi tietotekniikan parempi puolisko oli kotona ja sai viruksen poistettua. Koneeltani katosi kaikki tiedostot: kuvat, koulutyöt, mitä ikinä olinkaan tallentanut. Windows piti asentaa uudelleen ja nyt alkaa kaikkien ohjelmien lataukset: Office, windows media player yms..Virukset tulevat internetistä ja sosiaalisessa mediassa pyörii varoituksia viruksista vähän väliä. Somessa virukset ovat minun näkemänäni olleet viestejä tai statuksia, joista ystäväni ovat tykänneet ja tämän jälkeen virus lähettää itsensä eteenpäin tämän kaikille facebook -ystäville.Sitten joku näistä klikkaa virusta ja se leviää jälleen, virus on pysättämötön.

Juuri näiden asioiden takia en facebookissa käytä juurikaan sovelluksia tai juttuja, joita vähänkään epäilen. Tietoturva facebookin kanssa arvelluttaa muutenkin; heillä on meistä pelottavan paljon tietoa.Niin kuin yhdellä ConnectPro -tunnilla keskusteltiinkin, pääsevät työnantajat yllättävän helposti käsiksi työntekijän tietoihin, vaikka työntekijä itse olisi laittanut asetuksensa siten etteivät muut kuin kaverit näe hänen tietojaan. Facebook kohdistaa meihin järkyttävän paljon mainontaa, jotka ovat "juuri meille" suunnattuja; muotiin liittyviä asioita, matkoja yms. ja tämä on pelottavaa. Kerran kun on omat tietonsa laittanut SOMEen ja niiden sovelluksiin, ei niitä taida saada enää ollenkaan pois?

VIRUSES

Yesterday I was writing my school stuff at home and all of a sudden about 50 pop-up windows appeared to my screen. I got a bit scared cause I realized immediately that it was a virus. Luckily the better side of our familys IT was at home and got the virus deleted. the virus deleted everything I had in the computer: my pictures, school work, what every I had saved there.The windows needed to be re-installed and now I have to download all the programs again which I´m going to need: Microsoft Office, windows media player etc. The viruses come from the internet and there are a lot of warnings about viruses in the social media all the time. The viruses I´ve seen in some, mainly in Facebook, have been messages or statuses, that my friends have liked and after that the virus sents itself to all of her facebook friends. Then some of the friends opens it and the virus keeps spreading itself like that, it´s nonstoppable.

This is exactly why I´m not using applications or other stuff in facebook, that I suspect even a little bit. I´m a little uncertain about the whole security of Facebook: they have a lot of information about us and that is scary. Just like we discussed in one of the ConnectPro -meetings, the supervisors get quite easily information about their employees from the social media even though the employee has put the settings in a way that only her friends can see information about her. Also Facebook is targeting a lot of advertising to us which are exactly for us and of our interest: things related in fashuon, trips etc. and this is scaring me. Once I have put all my information to SOME and its applications, I don´t thinkI will ever get them away from there will I?

SOME -kurssin aloitus sekä oppimistavoitteet

Eilen aamulla oli ensimmäinen SOME -tapaaminen verkossa ConnectProssa. OIin tapaamisen aikaan töissä toimistolla, enkä valitettavasti saanut ConnectPro -ohjelmaa toimimaan. Pyysin neuvoa opettajilta, mutta ilmeisesti työpaikkani palomuuri esti ConnectProhon yhdistämisen. Olin hieman harmissani asiasta, mutta onneksi luento tallennettiin ope -blogiin ja pystyin katsomaan luennon töistä päästyäni.

Sain hyvin kurssin ideasta kiinni, kurssin perusasiat ja rakenne selkeytyivät ja jäljelle jäi “vaan” SOME -tutkimustyön aloittaminen ja tehtävien tekeminen. Sain tiedon kurssista Haaga-Helian Haagan toimipisteen tv -näytön mainoksesta ja mielenkiintoni heräsi samantien: kurssi vaikutti mielenkiintoiselta, ajankohtaiselta ja uskoin että minulla on paljon oppimista sosiaalisesta mediasta.

Itse olen pääosin käyttänyt vain Facebookia, LinkedIniä, Google Docsia, Dropboxia ja YouTubea. Toivonkin kurssilla oppivani sosiaalisen median ja sen käyttötarkoituksia ja mahdollisuuksia kokonaisvaltaisemmin. Yritän myös hyödyntää oppimaani mahdollisimman paljon, sillä työskentelen markkinointi -ja viestintäalalla. Opiskelen hotelli-, ravintola-, ja matkailu alan liikkeenjohtoa englanniksi, ja kirjoitan opinto-ohjaajan toiveesta blogini sekä suomeksi että englanniksi. Tulen siis kirjoittamaan postaukseni ensin suomeksi ja sitten englanniksi, mutta blogiani voi kommentoida ihan suomeksi.

The beginning of SOME and the learning objectives

Yesterday morning was the first SOME meeting in the web, in ConnectPro. I was working during the meeting and could not unfortunately connect to ConnectPro. I asked for the help from the teacher, but apparently my work place´s fire wall prevented me from getting to the ConnectPro. I was a bit down from that but luckily the meeting was filmed and posted to the teachers blog and I could watch the meeting at home after I finished work.

I got a good idea, the main objectives and issues to be handled in the course. Also the structure was getting clear to me. All there was left was “only” to start researching about social media and to do the assignments. I got the information about the course from Haaga Campus TV ads and I got interested of the course immediately: the course seemed interesting, current and I thought I had lot to learn from social media.

I have used only mainly Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Docs, Dropbox and YouTube.
 I hope to learn new things about the social media and the ways one can use it. I will try to use my learnings in working life as well since I work in marketing and communications. I study hotel -, restaurant-, and tourism management in the English degree programme and my study counsellor adviced me to write my postings both in Finnish and in English. So in the future you will see all my posts both in Finnish and English. I will write my post first in Finnish and then in English.

Let the SOME begin!
